Bendit Chan is a pianist, composer, and musical director working across classical performance and theatre.
Bendit Chan is a Hong Kong-born pianist currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London under the tutelage of Professor Gareth Owen and Noriko Ogawa, where he is refining a wide-ranging repertoire and performance craft.
Praised for mature musical insight and technical clarity, Chan has given solo recitals and appeared as a concerto soloist in major London venues. In March 2025, he performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 at Cadogan Hall with the Imperial College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Oliver Gooch. A year earlier, he performed Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 at Imperial College London with the Imperial College Sinfonietta, conducted by Bill Carslake. Alongside his solo work, he is active as a chamber musician and regular ensemble collaborator.
His performances combine stylistic sensitivity with expressive authority, from the intricate textures of twentieth-century repertoire to the broad architectural sweep of Romantic works. His thoughtful approach and engaging presence have been recognised by audiences and peers alike.
Chan’s theatre work includes extensive experience with Imperial College Musical Theatre Society across composition, orchestration, musical direction, keyboard-conducting and rehearsal piano. With the society, he was composer, orchestrator and musical director for DB Cooper: The Musical, and musical director and keyboard-conductor for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Earlier Imperial credits include Keys 1 for Matilda and Keys 1 and rehearsal pianist for Big Fish. He was also composer, orchestrator and musical director for Sidekicked at the UCL InterACT Festival.
In recognition of his artistic promise, Chan received the Ede & Ravenscroft Scholarship during his undergraduate studies at Imperial College London and a Guildhall School Scholarship upon admission for postgraduate study. An active participant in masterclasses and collaborative projects, he continues to build a performance profile grounded in individuality, stylistic integrity and thoughtful musicianship.
